The History of Oakey’s
Oakey is a familiar name in the Roanoke valley in regard to funeral services. The Oakey family has provided funeral services to the Roanoke for over 150 years and people have come to equate the Oakey name with quality, dignity and respect for the deceased. President, Sammy Oakey has always loved animals and his family is passionate about their own pets. They understand the great loss you feel when a beloved pet dies and that is why Oakey’s opened the Pet Funeral Home and Crematory in 2009. Oakey’s wanted to provide the same quality cremation services to pet owners with the added touch of personalized service and a location that allows for families to meet and grieve for their pets.
We want to help ease the pain of saying goodbye to a very special part of your life, who has provided friendship, unconditional love and memories to last a lifetime. Our goal is to treat your pet the way we would treat any family member we serve, with respect and dignity, and with the level of care that families have come to expect from Oakey’s.
