It was a hot late July evening in 2005 when my 8-month pregnant self found this little orange kitten along with his muted calico sister on the side of the road. I scooped both up and took them home. This “little” orange kitten became known as my gentle giant, Oskar. He would literally put up with any and everything my other cats could dish. His feet were the size of silver dollars and he weighed about 15 lbs. My sweet boy fell ill and was diagnosed with diabetes. He was the absolute best about his insulin shots but sadly, in the end, we think he suffered a stroke, and I had to make the call no pet mom wants to make. He left us peacefully on Friday, March 29th going to meet my mama at the bridge where I know she is taking great care of him and my other fur babies.
Left to cherish Oskar is his mama and daddy, Kelly and Robert Medlin, his human brothers Gavin and Kayse, and his 2 fur sisters, Pep and Daisy Maez. A huge thank you to Dr. Spangler and her wonderful staff at Old Dominion Vet clinic for their amazing care and the love they showed my boy up to the very end. I can never thank you enough for your kindness and compassion.
Til I see you again.
