September 1999 to February 15, 2017
I was in middle school at the time I adopted Stormy into my life and she was my best friend for 18 years. Unlike any other animal I have had in my life- I truly feel as though she chose me. She was my ‘little grey shadow’ who followed me around to every room and slept curled around the top of my head every night.
She was fearless. Stormy approached every animal, including the biggest of dogs, with love and confidence. Stormy was diagnosed with hyperthyroidism and for the last years of her life I administered medication to her every morning. Even in her final days she remained spry and seemingly optimistic.
On the morning of February 15, 2017, Stormy was eased of her medical suffering by the angel staff at Valley Animal Hospital in Roanoke, Virginia.
Stormy is survived by her feline sister Oreo Martin, her adopted feline sister Phoenix “Marie” Cavendish, and her canine sister Maggie Mae Cavendish.
My husband and I would like to thank Valley Animal Hospital for the care they provided our grey baby for the last few years. We would also like to thank Oakey’s Pet Funeral Home & Crematory for existing as a way for families to have true closure for their lost best friends like my Stormy.
