Brandie Elliott

Sweet Little Brandie was born on July 2, 2006, to Sweet Midnight Van Garrett and Sammy’s Little Ginger Snap in Piney River, Virginia. Her older brother, Winston picked her out of the litter for his 8th birthday.

Our family is forever grateful to Samatha Brooke Thacker and her parents for giving our home the best little girl we could ask for.

Her humans left to treasure her memory are; Mom & Dad (Tres & Robin), brothers (Carter & Winston) and the best K9 little brother (Jax), a 100-pound gentle giant.

For over 17 years, Brandie was the center of attention at home, more so in the past three. In 2020, Winston moved home to help assist with her care, his dedication and her determination resulted in years of time we wouldn’t have had with her otherwise. We were told several times, “We don’t think she will make it,” but the vets called her the “Bounce Back Queen,” and boy did she bounce back several times.

She loved car rides with the window down, kisses with Mom, chasing her Daddy around the kitchen island, and spending her days at home with her brother, Winston.

We would like to thank the amazing team that cared for Brandie over the years, Dr. Robin Hubbard who cared for Brandie for over 15 years, Dr. Shella Baker and her amazing staff at Oak Hill Veterinary Care and Pet Resort, Dr. Grant, (College of Veterinary Medicine) and Dr. Jay Harper, (Animal Emergency Critical Care).

Sweet girl, when you crossed that Rainbow Bridge on Tuesday, September 12, 2023, we hope you found bright sunny spots to lay in, grass to run through, and endless Chick-fil-A nuggets and pup cups!

Our heartfelt thanks also go to Oakey’s Pet Funeral Home and Crematory, as their staff went above and beyond to make our hardest day with Brandie so peaceful and special.
