Oakey’s Pet Funeral Home & Crematory provides a warm and inviting place for you and your family to gather and remember your beloved pet. Private cremations are performed on-site and many options are available for memorializing your special family member. At Oakey’s, we understand how painful it is to lose a pet and we provide all of our services with care and compassion.
On-site Private Cremations
Oakey’s Pet Funeral Home & Crematory provides private cremation. Private cremation is when there is only one pet in the cremation chamber during the cremation process.
- All cremations will be private.
- Fees for pet cremation services are based on the weight of the animal.
- All cremations will receive a cremation certificate, ink paw print and lock of hair.
- There will be an additional charge for removal from a residence.
- Transfers to the crematory made after normal business hours, or from beyond a 25-mile radius of Roanoke can be made at an additional charge.

Cremains
Your pet’s cremated remains will be returned to you in a temporary urn with a certificate of cremation, ink paw print and a lock of hair. You also have the option to choose a more permanent urn. We have urns available to view at our facility or online.
Burial
Oakey’s Pet Funeral Home & Crematory can provide burial containers and will deliver your pet’s remains to the appropriate cemetery that provides burial. We also have available, a third party to open and close a grave on your property if you choose.
Pick up and Delivery
Oakey’s Pet Funeral Home & Crematory will pick up your pet from your veterinary clinic from anywhere.* We are on-call 24 hours a day/ 7 days a week and are here to assist you with your needs. Just call 540.265.7297 or 540.366.9247 for our services. We will also deliver your pet’s cremated remains to your veterinarian’s office. If you choose to have your pet’s cremated remains returned to your veterinarian’s office, we will notify you that they have been delivered. We can also mail your pet’s cremains to you ($60 additional charge).

Pre-arrangements
We suggest that families make plans for the care of your pet before losing your pet, as it is simply a less stressful time to make these decisions. Pre-arrangements for your pet are available, just as with any family member and ensure your pet will be taken care of the way you desire when pet loss occurs. Oakey’s Pet Funeral Home & Crematory staff is pleased to offer you grief and support services for the entire family.
