Our beloved Lady Ripley passed on June 8, 2025. We got Lady in North Carolina from a family in which the older man admitted he would hit her for getting in the trash can or running away. This infuriated me, but as soon as Lady got into our car, she put her paw over my shoulder as if she knew she had been saved. That broke my heart, but at the same time, I knew she knew she was saved. Lady did get into our trash can, but was never scared anymore. All we did was pick the trash up and look at her and say, No. That’s all it took. Lady had a good life with us. She had other dogs to play with and get spoiled with. She loved to play in the snow as well and loved to destroy the Bobo toys — she left the evidence in the backyard and in the house. She loved staying cool from the heat. We called her Crazy Lady because I caught her licking our walls. I thought that was the strangest thing I saw a dog do, but we let her be. Lady was definitely different and unique. Nothing much got past her, she could hear just the sound of a bag or the screen door barely open and she alerted us or knew she was going to get a treat. Our Lady was a special girl! She always snuck in extra kisses and rubs when the other dogs left the room for a bit.
It never gets easy losing a pet you love so much. Our memories will never fade away. With all our love, Lady.
Your family, The Ripley’s
